‘Soundtrack 1984’ is an instrumental composition. After the bass and drums intro, a mellotron enters. 
‘Maybe’ is heavy, with a soaring organ. What a great mellotron and vocal melodies, and the heaviness contrasts with the quieter vocal sections with the organ. 
A lovely guitar part that continues until the mellotron and vocal melodies kick in again. This composition sounds like a late sixties tune.
‘Soft Focus’ features keyboards and harp and is a very ballad-like song with soulful vocals. ‘Fantastic Mirror’ has an RPI feel with keyboards. 
‘Poltergeist’ is an upbeat one, with pulsating keyboards and percussion that doesn't quite live up to the song's title. 
Guitar, organ and violin take turns taking the lead.
The suite ‘An Old Castle Of Transylvania’ includes the last four tracks, and the songs harmonise with each other. This is the highlight of the album. ‘Forest Of The Death’ is dark and brooding, experimental, with organ and synthesisers. Things change after 2 1/2 minutes when the drums come in and slowly build up and the organ picks up. 
‘The Cursed’ continues to be sombre as the organ enters, then things get dramatic after a minute and the guitar and drums enter. Vocals are heard for up to 2 minutes, then the guitar returns, appearing and disappearing at times. 
‘Darkness Of The World’ is again similar in sound, but more energetic and powerful, at least until the vocals appear and subside somewhat. 
The guitar is quickly joined by a powerful organ and steady drums. 
A mellotron follows before the 3rd minute, then vocals. A minute later we get a stunning ending with rolling thunder, rain and wind. It's like you are right there in that wild storm.
