King Crimson launch a new live archive series with 2014 NYC, drawn from the band’s four-night run at New York’s Best Buy Theatre in September 2014. Captured from multi-track recordings, the set documents the first tour by the group’s expansive seven-piece line-up featuring Robert Fripp, Jakko Jakszyk, Mel Collins, Tony Levin, and drummers Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin and Pat Mastelotto.
With three drummers positioned across the front of the stage, the band approached classic material as something fluid and continually evolving rather than fixed arrangements. Tracks such as ‘Starless’ are rebuilt with fresh dynamics and detail, balancing precision with sheer power.
