The album is essentially split into two sides, A and B which works conceptually with the album. A is for the most part all hard hitting rock music. No Good opens it up and it's an in your face blues rocker with powerful vocals and a great backing band to go with it. Really taking it back to the 70's but not in such a way that is completely derivative. Glass House, and Hot Blood are the other rock songs on this half of the record. Broken Bones is a Stomp Blues track that's a bit more low key, but still good and offers a nice ebb to the album's flow.
The true highlight for this side of the record though is Way Down We Go.
The album thus far was entertaining but the real meat on the bone is on side B. While Way Down We Go was the best song, the whole second half makes for a great listening experience. Side B is all made up of acoustic-tinged ballads with a hint of bluesey soul. Songwriting is wonderful, and the subtlety and appreciation for build-up and flow is definitely expressed in these songs. It even includes a track sung in their native tongue.
The final song and ultimate climax to the record is satisfyingly epic. Really makes for a overall wholesome listening experience.
