The only studio album by British band Affinity, released in 1970, is an exquisite mosaic of progressive rock, jazz fusion and psychedelia, deserving of cult status as a gem of the era. Despite its limited popularity with the mainstream audience, Affinity became an example of true musical exploration, sophistication and experimentation. The central figure of the band is Linda Hoyle, whose vocals combine the emotionality of blues with the intelligence of jazz delivery.
She doesn't just sing — she engages in a dialogue with the instruments, creating a magnetic atmosphere. Her performances on tracks such as ‘Night Flight’ and ‘All Along the Watchtower’ (an incredible cover version of Dylan's song with a psychedelic twist) are striking in their depth and emotional power.
