Produced by Graham Sutton (Bark Psychosis, These New Puritans) and Bambaras, Birthmarks is the fifth and best studio album from New York band Bambaras. A wild, musically adventurous set of songs that follows a set of lost characters caught in a multi-generational cycle of love, violence and rebirth. Recorded in the UK and the band's New York studio, Birthmark shows the band exploring new musical territory with an even greater focus on production and atmosphere, while maintaining the noir foundation of what they've perfected since their debut. The album features a wide range of instruments, with vocal contributions from friends Emma Acs (Crack Cloud), Bria Salmena, Madeline Johnston (Midwife), saxophone Jeff Tobias (A. Savage), harp Marilu Donavon (LEYA) and many more. Creating new space, both lyrically and sonically, has always been Bambara's speciality, and with Birthmarks this world has never seemed so vast.
