After the universal acclaim of their first two records, The Murder Capital return with ‘Blindness’, a vividly realised, clearly visible and ambitious new album. The record is momentous and energised, full of impressions from different places - from consciousness, from the Dublin-based band whose members are now scattered across Ireland, London and Europe - and at the same time full of powerful energy.
The Murder Capital's new set of songs is animated by a wider and richer perspective, brought about by the five members' diverse perspectives on the creative process, different worldviews stemming from their literally new location in the world. Drummer Diarmuid Brennan lived in Berlin, bassist Gabriel ‘G’ Paschal Blake in Letterkenny, guitarist Cathal ‘Pump’ Roper in Donegal, and guitarists Damien ‘Irv’ Tuite and McGovern in London. The album prioritised urgency, energy, freshness - all of which were embedded in the songs from their earliest incarnations, recorded in Los Angeles with the help of Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton.
