The only album by New York band Estus, released in 1973 on Columbia Records, is a true hidden gem of early 70s American classic rock. Despite its lack of widespread recognition, the album deserves attention for its skilful combination of hard rock energy, blues roots and melodies reminiscent of soft rock. The album was produced by renowned musician and engineer Eddie Kramer (who worked with Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin), and this is immediately apparent in the sound quality: it is warm, spacious and at the same time ‘live’.
