Djawadi’s return to the music of this story-world, is a more monumental thing on a personal level than it seems to be to most people – judging from the average ratings this score got. Well known some people becried the fact of House of the Dragon even having the same exact opening-theme as Game of Thrones does, but the music is with this minor-major-contrasting, more of a statement on brewing conflict and opposition, than worldwide-war. The first series was about a whole continent at-war, and the music reflected that. Even Ramin Djawadi said, - about the way he came up with the theme-song - that the intro was supposed to evoke travel and conflicting interests. So, when you understand that part of this immortal TV-theme’s composition, you can get why it fits the story of the dance of the dragons, when it comes to it. True the first season of HOTD didn’t go around the world much, but later seasons will, and that’s clearly the direction it is headed after the first season’s finale.
