Two and a half hour electronic masterpiece that expands upon C418's sound at the time, breaking from the barriers of nostalgia or quick simple soundtracks music that Minecraft - Volume Alpha was barricaded by. From stellar and quickly satisfied tracks like the opener "Ki", to tracks like the follow-up 10-minute oasis, "Alpha" (sounds like traveling on horseback through the valley as a pilgrim), this touches on every aspect of the "Minecraft" sound coated in countless layers, all of which to create the dark and large room atmosphere that is unique to the project. What really makes this project so unique in comparison to it's predecessor is the inclusion of various real world, microphone recorded noises thrown into the mix that oddly sound beautiful when put next to the various electronic instruments, the finale track "Intro" making amazing use of this (felt very reminiscent of "aisatsana [102]", another beautiful live-recording outro track to Aphex Twin's 2014 electronic revival, Syro). C418 also truly flexes his ability to make progessive electronic music on here with tracks like "Taswell" or especially "The End" that experiments with different fuzzes and layering throughout it's 15 minutes of horrifying yet captivating runtime. The inclusion of classic nostalgic Minecraft melodies subtly running throughout the background of what sounds like time itself melting feels like the closest musical equivalent to 2001: A Space Oddysey (actually 2006 Toyota Corolla but whatevski).
