Peace Sells... is considered by many to be a landmark thrash metal album. After originally recording the album with Combat Records, Megadeth signed with Capitol Records who purchased the rights to the album. Capitol hired Paul Lani to remix the recordings, and in doing so, produced the band's breakthrough album. The opening bassline from "Peace Sells..." was used for years as the theme for MTV news.
