2024 marked the 50th anniversary of the release of Cymande’s album *Promised Heights*, which concluded a historic trilogy of early 1970s Afro-soul albums, comprising their 1972 debut *Cymande* and the 1973 album *Second Time Round* . Promised Heights cemented Cymande’s place in music history and features some of their most beloved and frequently played tracks, such as “Brothers On The Slide”.
