Promises is a unique collaboration between three worlds: British electronic musician and neuroscientist Sam Shepard (Floating Points), spiritual jazz legend Ferrow Sanders (who was 80 years old at the time of recording), and the London Symphony Orchestra.
This is Ferrow Sanders' swan song (he died a year after the release), which adds even more emotional weight to the album. Instead of the explosive free jazz he was known for in his youth, here Sanders sounds like a sage speaking in whispers.
