One of the main ideas of the album is the theme of cultural identity and connection with the African diaspora. The title of the album refers to the historic Black Star Line company, founded by Marcus Garvey, a leader of the Pan-African movement. This concept runs through the entire album — in the lyrics, atmosphere, and musical decisions.
Star Line's sound palette is much broader than in the artist's previous works. The compositions organically combine traditional hip-hop, gospel, neo-soul and elements of Afrobeat. Thanks to this, the album sounds diverse: from melodic and almost spiritual tracks to energetic compositions with powerful rhythms.
