Guitarist Lee Ritenour had just switched from Epic to Elektra when he released Captain's Journey in 1978. This album was a follow-up to the successful crossover work of Captain Fingers and utilised a similar concept: dense, hook-laden arrangements, polished production and a minimum of solo space. Some individual moments are dominated by Ritenour, a supremely talented guitarist who shows his full potential in these arrangements.
