To mark the 35th anniversary of Tracy Chapman's eponymous debut album, the Elektra/Rhino Records label is offering a reissue on black vinyl. Originally released by Elektra Records in April 1988, Tracy Chapman's album has long been unavailable on vinyl.
This anniversary reissue was prepared for release by Chapman and album producer David Kerschenbaum, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and made from an analogue master. The album will also come with an insert with the lyrics in translation that accompanied the original worldwide release. Featuring the classic singles ‘Fast Car’, ‘Talkin’ Bout A Revolution’ and “Baby Can I Hold You”, the album won three Grammy Awards and became one of the most successful debuts of all time, reaching number one in several countries and selling over 20 million copies worldwide. To this day, the album regularly appears on charts around the world and is one of the most successful albums by a female artist in chart history.
