A collection of rare recordings, beginning with the previously unreleased ‘John Evan Band’, the band's first live incarnation, which performed almost exclusively covers of R&B classics. Great examples are presented here, such as classics like ‘Hold On I'm Comin'’, ‘Respect’ and more, all with Ian Anderson on lead vocals. The tapes have been preserved and are presented here in their best quality. In addition, on the B-side of this LP, we find other highly sought-after tracks, such as an impressive and rare promotional version of MGM, ‘Sunshine Day’, Jethro Tull's debut single in 1968. On the record label, the band is credited as Jethro Toe. The B-side, ‘Aeroplane’, is their first published attempt at venturing into the world of progressive rock. Later, with exclusive mono mixes on 7" vinyl, the following singles by the now established band, released on the Chrysalis label, complete this LP collection.
