The Belgian band Jenghiz Khan left behind only one album, Well Cut, released in 1971 on the Barclay label. It is a true example of rare European prog and hard rock from an era when continental bands tried to combine Anglo-American influences with their own style.
The music of Well Cut is a mixture of heavy prog rock, psychedelia and early heavy blues, with characteristic keyboard parts and expressive guitar solos. The sound is influenced by Deep Purple and Atomic Rooster, but at the same time has a European flavour: more whimsical melodic solutions, complex transitions and dramatic vocal lines.
