Roland Corporation proudly presented the worldwide premiere of their latest short film, celebrating Detroit’s most influential musical contribution since Motown – the record label and collective known as Submerge and UR (Underground Resistance). This mini-documentary offers a rare glimpse into the personal stories and shared experiences at the heart of the Detroit techno scene. Through intimate discussions, it dives deep into the lives of the group’s founding members, innovators, and forward-thinkers who continue to define the soul of the genre.
The global launch of the film took place on the Roland Global YouTube channel, accompanied by a detailed feature on Roland Articles titled “Underground Resistance, Submerge, and the Detroit Way.” This article includes expanded narratives and exclusive tales shared by the documentary’s participants. The film’s release was commemorated with exclusive screenings at the Detroit Public Library on February 28 and the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles during GRAMMY Week on February 2.
