A device to measure the pressure force on the stylus
Each stylus has a recommended pressure force (the pressure it exerts on the record). The pressure force is usually set by turning the counterweight on the back of the tonearm. You'll often find labelling on turntables indicating the relative downforce so you can set it manually. But for quite a small amount of money you can use this little measuring device. Peace of mind doesn't often come so inexpensively.

Good level
A key component of good sounding recordings is setting up your turntable correctly. To do this, you need to make sure you have a good level. If your turntable doesn't stand perfectly level, you can usually adjust it using the feet attached to the bottom. As a last resort, you can use cards or other items to raise the feet even higher if necessary to ensure quality playback.

Clamps
Record clamps hold records more securely to the disc, and the extra weight can help with bass reproduction.
