Released in March 1996, Milk & Kisses was the band's last album, although it was not intended to be at the time. The trio worked separately but efficiently - Raymond worked during the day, Guthrie at night, leaving Fraser to add her vocals. Because of the turmoil of her breakup with Guthrie, the lyrics came easily to her. Led by the beautiful, quiet single Tishbite, which entered the Top 30 and included fan favourites Violane and Eperdu, Milk & Kisses tends to go unnoticed in the band's canon, and so it was ripe for exploration. Although work was begun on the follow-up album Milk & Kisses, The Cocteau Twins broke up in 1997.
