Cannibal Corpse's music has always evolved in one direction: straightforward death metal. Their early albums were characterised by the traditional use of song structures and the riffs were not very technical, but their assertiveness and aggression pleased everyone. From album to album they managed to become more and more musically inventive. This album, the second after the dismissal of Chris Barnes and the addition of Corpsegrinder, even if it is not their best, is also good and criminally underrated.
